Here are a selection of thumbnails from a new project I’m working on with illustrator turned budding comics writer Rob Simpson. Its basically a 17 page comic about Brighton based 19th Century inventor Magnus Volk and his crazy seafront railway called The Pioneer. Should be fun to draw! Very H.G. Wells.
It is also part of a larger project called Alt-Brighton, a collaborative graphic novel to be published by Queenspark Books in 2013! More info to come as the project progresses.
On another subject, my last mini comic Afanc is finally up to read in its entirety on the COMICS section of the website…
I’m now off to Thought Bubble for the weekend with my trusty portfolio! Wish me luck!
That’s right folks, it’s Comiket time again! I will be selling my usual stuff (plus some spangly new prints and volume 1 of Pathless Places) alongside the super talented Lucy Irving and Adam Moore. Doors open at 11am and its absolutely free to get in! There will loads of amazing publishers, writers and artists there selling some top notch comics and related goodies, plus the ever entertaining Drawing Parade. All happening at the usual venue (Bishopsgate Institute) near Liverpool Street Station, London. Come! Come!
Hello there! It’s been a while. Here’s one of the things I’ve been up to – a logo design commission for a brand new pet services company. I came up with four designs in all but here’s the one they went for in the end. Shown as both final design and as early rough scribbles.
It’s IAPF time again! I will be there on the Sunday selling some of my comics as per usual and probably Adam Moore‘s too. The main fair will be taking place in Conway Hall (the same place as last year!) situated on Red Lion Square in Holborn, central London. There will be loads of amazing stalls and workshops and I think it’s only three quid to get in! So please come!
There’s also a lot more going on besides the fair: 21st July – 5th August – an exhibition of David Greene plus his new book, Thursday 2nd Lambs Conduit Street exhibitions evening, Friday 3rd Comix Reader Launch & Exhibition…
Don’t miss it.
This week’s Unstruck discusses the relevance of sci fi visions of the future..
Decided to do a Judge Dredd inspired piece. A bit wobbly in places but hopefully it’ll suffice for a quick Tuesday night sketch!
This week’s Unstruck is about the Noosphere…
Last week’s Unstruck which I forgot to post last week. Having a break this week in order to do some other work. Hopefully more news on that soon. In the meantime here is a lovely review of Zinezilla, the zine I created last year with the very talented Mr Kieron Cropper. Cheers to 365 Zines a Year for the kind words.
Final two strips and back cover of my most recent comic. Parts 1 and 2 are here and here. Will put the whole thing in the Comics section of this site in the next day or two!
Another two strips from my most recent comic, Afanc. The first part can be read here.
